How we handle your data
This page explains, in plain language, what information 88bookings collects, where it is stored, who can see it, and how you can export or delete it. It is written to be audit-ready for you and your clients.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone number, and password (stored encrypted / hashed).
- Shop details: business name, address, opening hours, services, staff and stock.
- Booking records: appointment date/time, service, practitioner and price.
- Client memory notes and photos that a client chooses to save about a visit.
- Basic technical logs (IP address, browser type) needed to run the service securely.
Where it is stored
Data is held in a secured database hosted with a reputable cloud provider. Uploaded photos are stored in encrypted object storage. Backups are encrypted and retained for disaster recovery only.
Who can see it
- Clients see their own bookings, notes and photos.
- Shop owners and approved co-managers see bookings for their own shop only.
- Private client notes are never shown to a shop unless the client explicitly ticks 'share'.
- 88bookings staff access data only where necessary to run and support the service.
Sub-processors
We use trusted third parties to deliver the service: a cloud hosting provider (application and database), an email delivery provider (booking confirmations and account emails), and an SMS provider (appointment reminders). Each processes only the minimum data required.
How long we keep it
Booking and account records are kept for as long as your account is active. When an account is closed, personal data is deleted or anonymised within 90 days, except where we must retain records to meet legal or tax obligations.
Your rights — export & delete
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time. Email privacy@88bookings.ai and we will respond within 30 days. Shop owners can also export their own booking data from their dashboard.
Security
Connections are encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and access is restricted by role. We review our security practices regularly.
